Programs
In order to support the programs and organizations that facilitate the programs and workshops, The Exchange Club of Edmonds holds various fundraisers during the year. Our next event is the 22nd Annual Sweet Charitee Golf Classic. Join us Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Walter Hall Golf Course for a day of fun & fellowship supporting the community we live & work in!

The Exchange Club of Edmonds supports many programs and workshops to help prevent child abuse, improve parent-child interaction and make our overall community a better place to live for our families. Locally, we are connected with programs of the Little Red School House, Deaconess Children's Service Center, YWCA Pathways for Women  & many others.

The Exchange Club of Edmonds was organized in 1983, and now has 46 members and growing. Yes, we have some rules, some regulations, some policies, but we're really a collection of community-focused people who enjoy getting together, planning events that are meaningful to our cause, and seeing positive change in the lives of our members and the families we serve.

Americanism.

Promoting pride in country, respect for the flag and appreciation of our freedoms are the primary purposes of Exchange's Americanism programs. The tumultuous struggles of world powers in the twentieth century have done little to guarantee a peaceful future for the majority of the world’s people. However, there’s one country in modern times that people flock to for safety, freedom and opportunity — the United States of America. It is hard for Americans to imagine the horrors of modern struggles over religious and ethnic differences, the very differences we embrace.

Proudly We Hail
Recognize citizens who fly our flag consistently & correctly.
Give A Kid A Flag To Wave
Provide small flags to our youth at local community events.
Freedom Shrine

The Freedom Shrine is an impressive, permanently mounted collection of 30 of the most important and historic American documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and the Gettysburg Address. They show our nation's youth the strength and courage of their forefathers by allowing them to read, with their own eyes, the immortal words of inspired Americans who so decisively changed the course of history.

South County Senior Center
South County Senior Center is a multipurpose facility serving the senior population of South Snohomish County since 1968.
The center is located on the beautiful eastern shores of Puget Sound just south of the Edmonds ferry terminal.
For seniors of any age, the center hosts a broad variety of classes, programs, services and activities.

Crime Prevention

The Neighborhood Block Watch Program has proven to decrease residential burglary and crime in active and participating areas since the program began in March 1985.

The purpose of a Block Watch is to increase communication between you and your neighbors with the agreement to become more watchful of neighborhood activities.
This program is organized through the Edmonds Police Department.
National Community Service Day
YWCA Pathways for Women
More than 30% of adults in YWCA employment programs and 53% of those in emergency shelter and transitional housing programs report their lives are affected by domestic violence. Domestic violence contributes to unemployment and homelessness and it is a barrier for women seeking housing stability and self-sufficiency for themselves and their children.
Book of Golden Deeds

Volunteer efforts are very important to our society and should not go unnoticed. The National Exchange Club’s longest running project, the Book of Golden Deeds Award, recognizes dedicated volunteers who give endless hours of their time and talents toward making their communities better places to live. Ever since the Exchange Club of Huntington, Ind., sponsored the first award in 1919, thousands of unsung heroes and heroines have been recognized.

Service to Youth

Turn Around Student (A.C.E.)
A.C.E. stands for Accepting the Challenge of Excellence. This program recognizes high school students who have made a dramatic change in their attitude and performance during their high school years. These changes have enabled the students to overcome adversities and prepare for graduation.
Clothes For Kids

Wenatchee Youth Circus

Our mission is to reach as many youth as possible, to teach them one by one the importance of setting goals for themselves and striving to work hard and stay focused on their goals so that they, too, will learn the value of giving back to the community what the community has given to them.

The Wenatchee Youth Circus, known as the "Biggest Little Circus in the World" is one of several nonprofessional groups presently performing in the United States. The show includes all the regular circus acts with the exception of wild animals.

Child Abuse Prevention.

Little Red School House
The mission of Little Red School House is to advance the quality of life for all children, particularly focusing on those ages birth to five with, or at risk of, developmental delays or disabilities.
Deaconess Children's Service Center
Deaconess Children's Services is the leading provider of child abuse and neglect prevention programs in Snohomish County. The primary purpose of Deaconess’ programs is protecting and supporting at-risk children and strengthening their families. We focus on preventing child abuse and neglect and helping those we serve to reach self-sufficiency.
Shaking Baby Syndrome

The National Exchange Club Foundation for the Prevention of Child Abuse has helped more than 100,000 children and 75,000 families eliminate abuse from their lives and provided a safe and healthy home environment.

It is the goal of the Foundation to educate as many parents, care givers, baby sitters and relatives as possible about Shaken Baby Syndrome.
